havin fun isn't hard

this week was grand.
really feel as though I'm growing and changing a lot.
i kinda have a new sense of myself . i think differently.
more Christ honoring.
yet with this knowledge i am much more able to decipher things which i need to correct in my life.

this week at church went well Ellie spoke.
Cal's class was amazing my eyes were opened to many things of how to live, think and have faith and basically continue showing love to others. for this is how we were created baby to be lovers.

My life has been filled with blessings

Some times I ask my self why isn't that I am sposto be trusting God fully with my future when finacially I do not think he provides for the majority of the world therefore why should I put my whole trust in Him and let Go if he hasn't been providing.
- Discussing this with Ben he tould me something very inresting which is , These people who to our eyes seem like they have nothing wounder the ezac same thing about us, why is it that the develeoped countries in the world buy the most anti depression pills than anyone else.
I know money doesn't buy happiness I mean the most famous people we know mess up, or end up killing themselves.
Why is it so often we fall in the trap of thinking that money and knowing the future will mend all of our troubles. Perhaps the best gift of all is giving and perhaps this reasoing isn't even some new age way of thinking, its simply what Jesus cammands us to do : Love Me, and Love others.
sounds simply, but... Maybe if this was so inportant to Jesus we should be really reflecting and praying what this actually intals.

Last friday youth was pretty good made pizzas and has a missionary talk to us about how we're the product of what we think. She was from brizil.
Last sunday helped out in sunday school , it went well I pray that these kids fully can comprehend the message. Even the distruptive todlers still have a heart that if found you can find gold in it.
Im not sure if i already talked about the surf rip in my last blog but it was radical. Love to keep doing that in Nova Scotia me and my cousion are going to go.  Met a pretty relaxed teacher at the surf trip he was so nice and loved seeing kaleo, we all expressed to the teens how great kaleo  is and how much it brings you closer to the call. Bos testinomony was outrageous loved it, love that guy, such a encouragement to all teens with whatever background.
try , try , try, no matter what. this has practically been my theme of my life, some times I work harder  and sometimes I fail faster but I've learned to never give up which some people don't get to learn . I say this because surfing took me a while but I loved the peace the ocean brought me , the sun overlooking the water is beautiful to think there is no God is foolish.

had a great week laast week.
-note to self no tv.

matt, mark, luke and john

hello, this week was neat;
discovered this week of the importance of the fruits of the spirit!
we need to be focusing on being gentle, and holy. not being negative or talking things that are not God honing.

I need to be reflating my own life on what I'm listening to and what I have become immune to.
Friday at youth i did a devotion on this very passage, we played a encouraging game, and all stuck paper on each others backs, an everyone wrote positive things about each other.
what great feedback, bought ice creme for all the kids at youth, it was a blast!

i bought strawberries today at the market 2.46$ can you believe it! yum yum in my tum tum.

gospels was great, leaned a lot about what it really means to follow Jesus. carrying the cross! *
i need to be sharing this good news, and need to be doing the will of god, and showing my faith through works.

Church today we were interview by Darin who talked to us about the Olympics it went well.
p.s i received a letter from my friend, and a care package from my mom, she sent me lots of choc which i shared

a lot of prayers answered to be perfect, striving to be like God
I NEED TO GET SLEEP.

p.s just do it
the en.
p.s i love you

ITS MARCH ALREADY?

HELLO GOD!
thanks, i prayed for my brother to sell a house- God gave him a opportunity to work at the bank. i pray that he gets it! amen

i prayed for strength at the olympics- amen. i had some of the best days ever their, working alongside simon, carol, and  guarding some v.i.p sections was a grand old time!
and
i got rid of  my fear of doing things alone.

prayed for april ( a teenage girl who attended lady smith ) to come to church again and she did twice , once when the kaleo kids weren't even there. she helped me today at church in sunday school, tate, and noah are so cute.

prayed for a fun day, hello mystic beach baby. hike, talks with nicole, soccer.

I am actually amazed at how fast time flys by when you get comfortable in things, i mean i didn't think march would come! and now its here, im sure april will fly as well. i've gained some great wealth with amazing friendships here at kaleo, they taught me to better myself, and to better the world. they inspired me.. i thank God for that.

i prayed that my dad would work again, next day he did. in-fact he's always working now.

i prayed for god to give me a sign and i saw my name katie caved in the chill tree.

life truly has been amazing, this semester i feel so much more relived , im not  worried about school at all. what a blessing all of our classes has been.

- - things I'm currently praying for is, peace of mind of my future, but i have found a lot of that, however i need to figure it out:)
-* what i do know however is that serving is so much better than receiving,
*God is faithful.
*there's good in everyone , if you look hard enough
* the world is filled with colors.
*** God will take care of my future. jer 29:11. He has always been there in my life!!!!!

as far as lady smith babptist fellowship church goes, WELLL. its going excellenta. youth was fun,  we played a weird game which involvedAdd Image spitting. its fun hanging out with all of the teens.
i pray that as we leave there God will leave a open door for the teens, as far as there future goes.

p.s thanks for the olympics, it was such a rewarding and amazing expierence , where I seen you at work,  i've expierienced soo mcuh! people from all over the globe filled with smiles!:)

amen !

paradise on earth almost.

sorry last night i tried to post this , but for some reason it did not work, so i am writing it again,

This week was good. Did some camp min with no one other than JIMMM badkeee . he is radical. learning lots about camp administration and what it means to work with a group.

this week overall was basically me seeking a lot and yelling and praising God all at the same time, I feel like I'm learning so much... and of course that comes frustration because I don't really know how to apply it yet i guess. i do feel that each and every week brings me on a new level with god. god is beautiful. Jim p. tells us that god reveals himself through creation, humans and life in general . so true. he asked me how has god been interfering in my life and i told him ... but as he dug deeper when asking me.. all i was left with was because of the holy spirit. it makes me think how much i need to really dig deep with god, and find our more about myself and the way i act like i do,.. Shane from new life homeless teaches me lots to, he wants us to have more time with prayer , and ask god to get rid of garbage in the psat, and pray for us to be continuingly seeking god.

hmm working with the children at lady smith baptist is amazing. all the girls are so special and pure kinda like how girls are made to be. i know that through god I'm making an influence in them. the message on Sunday was amazing! basically summed up as,, listen to the holy spirit and start surrendering your life / comfort. cha ching $ is what i thought

so many things to ponder over. had a great chat with my ma ma and da da this week, they are so so chill and giving its ridiculous! what a blessing. recently Ive been learning to think less of the future and what god wants me to do. but more so on spending time with what he wants me to do in the present. and to count my blessings.
what a gift our time here on earth is.
life is what u make it

thanks God.

Hello fellow blogger.
This week was amazing, I had a great time at Mount Washington, where I felt I seen the Lord in SO many ways, I seen Him through the moutions, sunsets, and sunrises, and definitely at Chapel.

Skiing was amazing though I loved seeing the moutions with friends, I really felt as though I bonded with many of the students, through the moutions and Chapel time, we all had a blast, of encouraging each other and naming each other. I received the name Physician. I am excited to grow into that.

Tyler spent time with us over the break which was fun. I want to write down eczaley how much I experienced God and felt His presence I do not want to forget this feeling. I want to be striving closer to God each and every day

I got a few opportunities to do so at youth group and church , i love how comfortable the kids feel with me, we always have a blast, Britney made me a bracelet and ring. and April told me about her sister who is moving away. I want to continue to be praying for these girls because they are so precocious.

OVERALL this week was simply a blessing, read some christian books on audio which inspired me, had great chats with the girls and guys, and hung out with Kaitlyn a bunch one night when we thought we heard a avadlage o good old times.

Spent time today at church in Sunday school, we talked about how Jesus got baptized by John, the kids love receiving attention when they get the answers right, so cute.

Also went to the homeless new life thing tonight which was a blast, love spending time with the community, and praying with those in need. I love putting the bible in action.

REACHING

Hello. Thanks for reading first off.
Well what am i feeling . I'm going to put this in point form if you don't mind
1. i feel like i should be listening to Gods voice more often
2. i feel like i need to get out of my comfort zone
3. i feel like i sould love more
4. i feel like i need to love more
5. i feel blessed to be here
6. i feel confessed why it wasn't me in the Haiti disaster
7. i feel blessed i wasn't
8. i feel like the closer i get to god the happier i am win win
9. i feel like i am close to believing in myself
10. i feel like god believes in me.
11. lastly i feel like i don't care what others think , only my God, your God, our God.

I'm so excited to spread this good news of the gospel in a nice way not to shove it in peoples faces of course but to show love, i don't want to hide myself in a church, i want to be THE CHURCH.

i know i am blessed , i have so much , and it is really this year where i believe in prayer and because of that i believe that i am blessed.

lIFE IS A CHOICE. i could suck if you wanted to . but again that's your choice. no of course not always. but i believe mostly. and if you have drama in your life, you probably created. not always again. what I'm saying to myself basically is that its my choice if I'm going to listen to God or not ,i could ignore him and live a simple selfish life or some call the American dream, I'm choosing happiness that is real. love which i was created for. and its only through the silence in which i hear gods voice.

what went down this week?
-well , hung out with jadder a bunch which was radical. speaking of reading a book called irresistible revolution, which is all about radical, I'm not going to lie reading it is filled me with truth but also fear. I'm not sure if i want to surrender all my possessions..

anyway went to coffee on the moon that was a blast. Niki Parker and Tyler are here there so amazing on so many levels, filled with love, and excitement i love learning things from the two.

the load on school is light ,because I'm actually asking for help in school, wondering why i haven't done this in the past. haha

ya heard katlyn ceys testimony it was incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry but she is soo amazing, i really hope i can be her friend forever because i lover her.

ya so thasts whats new with me. and Jessica hendry gave me 8 GB OF MUSIC THANKS SISTA;)

o and my brother is enganged lets just say im so happy for the two of them and it was the best proposal i've ever heard in my life. im soo happy for him. God bless!

p.s i have so many questions in life so im going to write them on my blog for kicks.
1. is media bad?
2. should i be a radical. please say no.
3. do people think the same way as me but are scared . speak there thoughts.
4. can people become christiasn
5. and why dont christians beilve they can
6. why do diasters happen

p.s god i good!

oh and i have huge news i found out this week which is excting.,
P.S SATAN YOU SUCk AND JESUS IS TRUTH. HA
i love life.
oh and um i could wrtie down all the things i have done, but who cares really i mean ya i went to a missions fest, danced almost everyday with ellie, laughed until i cried with jessica, walked on the beach with katlyn, had a awesome convo with everyone here, and prayed lots, but it really doesnt matter what you do its all how you feel, who you changed, what you learned through your expiernces in which you have done, because i could have done all thouse things and it didn't have to effect me in the way in which it did , but through God life is amazing.
oH And uh i would love to thank all the staff here at Qwanoes and Kaleo. jim, kristie, justin and marrissa. I have never seen orgazation, team work, and fun all at once before. these people teach me so much and they all are people who i look up to and love dearly, I hope they know how amazing they are.

bloggin er up once again

Hello Best friends
Once again ladies and gents this week lived up to its very finest. It began at the conference! One of my favourite quotes from the conference was from Albert Einstein- Continually doing something you know does not work is the definition of insanity. I experience many great leaders and pastors with wisdom over my head, many of the speakers talked about the importance of the way the church functions. the way it was originally designed to. the pastors both male and female brough encouragement to me to never stop growing with Christ, and to never stop believing in hope. Also the importance of rest, evaluating your self, I learned how we need to be more careful in bringing people to Christ now, and we need to try to understand where they are coming from.

The week brought overall hope, peace and made me more excited about spreading the gospel to others. I am so glad I got to experience this with my fellow christian friends. I even got to have lunch with my Youth Pastor from New Brunswick. ;)

Overall I am getting ready to go home, and need to realize that its coming soon, and I cannot come back the same person, what I mean by this is I need to show people love more, and care for people more. I need to be less worldly.

Overall this week was great I prayed to have a great week and I did. PRAYER WORKS! <- That's just incase you fergot!

I am ready for the future, and need to be consitinley praying.
Have a great week and thanks for reading ;)

Hey friends

Hello!!!
I hope you have had a fantastic week, I sure have. you know what is weird, growing as a person, I MEAN REALLY NOW! you would think when your 19 you would hae stopped growing now. However God is not finished with me, not even close, if Kaleo has taugh me one thing that would be it.:)

I LOVE KALEO. If I could describe kaleo in one word I would say Running.
you wanna know why, well. It's hard some times you want to puke your guts out,
however
the reward of finishing the race is incredible, you feel healthier, and overall in some sick way it feels amazing and refreshing, even though your super tired.
I love it.
This week was pretty swell, it stated off with me going to youth which was fun we watched a movie for a bit, than finished off with Ellie doing devotions along with some games, overall it was superb. I look foward to seeing the children each and every week. they are sooo cute. Sunday was a great service at church. Vince invited us over to a feist at our house, can I just say one thing, caramel apple pie, with whip cream is to die for.
home work is finally slowing down which is swell, I think my pulse is working again which is nice.
24/7 prayer week. HELLO! praying an hour a day was wounderious. I really felt as though God was working though me, HE STILL IS ! its happening baby. God is anwsering many prayers, and I love praying for you guys too. I would like to continue this prayer week in my daily sced .
Overall I am loving CM so far Dave maybe could be the best teacher so far, we'll just wait and see.

rain rain go away:) come again NEVEA'

thanks for reading my blog, and thanks for all your prayers as well. this week was a bit tiring with all the home work and late nights . what can i say bible school is a rough business. however i made it here once again, another monday im breathing no pig flu, and i even went against my morals and got the shot. you can call me katrena. im very brave. here me roar.
anyway learning the books in the OT. was really interesting i just we had even more time to dissect them to there full potential . very useful material that can benefit us in this day and age believe it or not.
friday youth was spend at the clippers hockey game. which was fine. i enjoy spending time with the kids. they give me hugs, and they are really cute , i remember being 13 and thinking that i could not mature any more , boy was i wrong. they are all gifts from God, so unique and full of life. Sunday I onced again helped out with sunday school, the topic was relevant to what we were learning in OT, it was the story of Abraham, I feel at home at lady Smith Baptist, they are very welcoming, and they count there blessings.
here at kaleo i am finding every one is so helpful, every one here has such a servants heart, and is so willing to give a helping hand. they truly love others. i guess thats part of being a christian. they are encouraging me to step out reach out to others i think my love language though is encouraging or spending time. rather than acts of service . ill work on it,
every week is so perfectly placed, i am so thrilled that we have prayer week! ah i wish it was all year round. during prayer i randomly started hugging the cross, and embracing his love for me. it's odd too because I not one to show affection. but i know god will never leave me. after that i prayed for our classmates, and i found this day went by beautiful because God was with me.

Do one THING every day that your scared OF.
p.s the simple things in life , make life.
DOUBLE P.S I LOVE YOU
XOXO

:)

this week went excellent
Friday youth was a lot of fun. Im receiving lots of hugs from the kids, and they always tell me to come back next week , which of coarse i would. overall youth is going good. i love hearing stories of the girls. one girl even opened up to me about her family life, and i got to help her out which was great. i did a devotion for the girls and boys on Philippians 4.4. it spoke to them and me, and it was a good chance for me to step outside my comfort zone, and speak to the public.
Sunday service went well also. i help out with Vince in Sunday school, we talked about how we need to be care full with our words.
i really am enjoying my church and love all the people there.
this week w went to new life for a show. where a comedian came up and spoke about Christianity basically in churches today. he was funny and it made me think to how sometimes its okay to relax. the musician was peace full too.
QFX meeting went well our team thought of ideas for crafts at qwanoes, we all worked hard , and it worked out well where Scott bailey received a lot of input from all our ideas. overall kaleo is going good, and don is excellent speaker. the Lord continues to bless me every single week. this week we went to Kristie's house for cookies, it was a great time for the girls to bound and just relax in a differ net healthy working environment.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your prayers.
This week I saw the olympic torch, the social event which took place crofton was superb. friday youth was once again swell, all the children love playing games with me , Ellie and Ben. I felt I was bonding with them hearing their backgrounds and just being silly, we always have a good time. My hope for that youth group is that there will be more students to attend over 15. my youth group started with 20 and finished with 400 so I know its possible. perhaps I was placed there to show them hope of growing there youth group, and more inportantly showing more kids to Christ.

Sunday church at Lady Smith Baptist was good too, I spent time with the children in Sunday school class, and assited the teacher, we drew pictures of Noahs Arc, and talked about Gods' creation. Overall sunday was one of a kind. or should I say 2. i wounder if you actually get that joke. Emma and Nate enjoyed Lady Smith also.

Kaleo this week taught me to have patience, which may go along with faith, to wait and find out why I'm actually placed here. I have a good idea, however I know God has more to show me, he has been too, the sunset at the doc today was amazing. Spending time with Ribs, and Merissa was so fun, Merissa teaches me patience and cares for our students so much.

heres some fun from your best friend me,

blogin er up

BONJOUR! well hello there friends. Merci for the prayers! hope all is well.
Well life in kaleo once again was swell. a bit tiring however God gave me strength which was righteous, and he got me through the week. currently its raining not that I've looked outside but just a wild guess.
this week i counselled i honestly was too thrilled about the idea at first, after finishing hermeneutics, i was a bit tired. however i ended up loving it! the kids were dolls, so cute, we did lots of activities where I'm sure we all connected on a spiritual level, they seemed open to the idea of God, and were asking questions, which was encouraging to me to share the gospel to others.
i have a goal each day to go to the doc, <-overlooking the ocean brings my thoughts together and helps me reflect. any who I've been so busy i never had a chance to go there. o well. surfing trip tomorrow, should be a great time to bond with the students and just have some break time. I'm looking forward to it. its amazing how blessed us students are.

each day i find myself learning one thing new, today i learned how god is always with you even when you think you cant go on and your by yourself, god with you. yes i know this is not a new concept but how often in life do we shrug these words of wisdom away.
Merril did a excellent job teaching us how to read the bible like a pro. however i think i would need to take that class 4000 times before I could.
overall I'm learning Independence, patience, and love, here at kaleo. and there are not too many courses which offer that.

God bless

Hi everyone , Thanks so much for all your prayers once again.

Well Kaleo is treating me well once again, I must say the weeks are going much more faster now. Each week I find myself bonding with more and more people. Having the girls night definitely helped that process on Thursday. Our girls really open up on what concerns they were currently facing and what needed prayer. I Believe in hope and I think in our world its rare to fine. I want to encourage our girls to hold on in times of trials and endure. By doing so you will gain pursuance which can't be bought.
On a lighter note we went caving, swimming and shopping all on one day, Tuesday. So much fun. The markets here are amazing filled with cultural diversity crafts, and food. Having amusing days lightens the load from our coarse load which I find to be quit intriguing and I;m learning a lot about the bible, so there really is no down side to the effort put in these papers.
The corn maze on Friday youth was superb! As I am connecting with these teens each and every week I find myself teaching them truth about how to grow as a Godly women, I imagine I'm being a influence on there decision making. Overall they're a riot, they're teaching me how to rap like a rock star too, so watch out.

I'll once again leave you off with some thrilling entertainment! Take care

Blog 3. Ministiries.

Hi everyone! Thanks again for the prayers! They're defiantly helping!

October 5-9 we went on out SALTS trip. Our tall ship Pacific grace was a beauty. She never acted up once through out the trip, just smooth sailing and sunsets. If only National Geographic were there. Although I was a bit disappointed there were no whale spotting's,bonding with people on the trip made up for it. I spent a lot of time with Caroline and got to here her story, she is such a blessing to our team and has a lot to offer. hearing personal stories of our brothers and sisters, on the ship was encouraging to pursue in times of hardship, it made me realize how it built them into who they are defined there character. I'm so happy to have such amazing friends.

My favourite time on the ship, was having solitude time with God in the morning. The Pacific ocean was calm, the sun was setting, and i was filled with peace. Letting God take all your cares away is such a relief.I feel energized to take on this year, thanks to God. Arriving at camp I was set to go to Lady Smith Baptist Church. Sunday i got a sense that I was where God wanted me to be . Like everything in Kaleo thus far has been planned out. I find I'm learning so much from these children at church. I came with the expectation that I would teach them things. It's funny how God works.
Here's some Corney gifts for you.

Kaleo Minisry woot!

Hello fellow readers! So nice of you to join me:) Thanks to all your prayers this has once again been a terrific week!
We started class Tuesday with Dr. Marv Penner. Spiritual Formation|. It was righteous. Our K7 team learned so much about relationships, life and in growing in faith. Marv did a champion job on making the class relevant, and exciting. It made me reflect about the steps I need to take in my spiritual journey.
I attened church Sunday and Friday at Lady Smith Baptist. Getting involved in this ministry is a lot of fun. Lady smith is stretching me to get out of my comfort zone by speaking to kids, and planning new ideas for youth. Speaking of; Friday night youth was held at Naniamo Swimming centre, it was a great chance for me to interact with the teens and hear their stories. It brings me joy that I'm being a positive influence in their lives already.... And also I showed them how to do a epic belly flop.
Each week is forming me closer to where God wants me to be. God has been answering so many prayers its mind blowing, he's teaching me to be patient, and to have faith... Also I've learned how to party like the 90's at the Dance event last night.
I'll leave you off with one of my favourite quotes, and songs;
Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

September 20, 2009
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for all the prayer support! Kaleo has met more expectations than I could have dreamt of. I'm surrounded by amazing people, every one here is very encouraging and helpful. The scenery here is remarkable, and unfortunately I cant write it down on this blog. I arrived at Lady Smith secondary Baptist church today. I wasn't required to be involved with too much in the ministry today However I made sure I said hi to every one who passed by me. After church Natasha drove us to her house, where she had held a meeting, discussing what is expected of us. They seemed to be confident that we could meet their expect ions, and they really believed we had a lot to offer. I'm looking forward to meeting each and every child, and showing them Gods love.I feel very close to God here at Kaleo; probably because I have been challenged to step out of my comfort zone. Arriving at Kaleo I was a bit nervous. I have been praying to God for peace; and I have never felt so much as when I do when over looking at God's nature here. The ocean here is as peaceful as it gets!
Climbing Mount Albert Edward was surreal. I found not only did I grow physically but mentally. You can do anything when working with a team!
I have been learning so much which is probably from being around amazing people 24/7. Every one here is using their gifts given by God, and it encourages me to become a better person. I love my room mates too, they are some of the most beautiful girls I have ever met inside and out! I am so excited for what God has in store for our whole team!! Please pray for everyone here, prayer is stronger than Arnold Schwarzenegger!
